Overview

This traditional farmhouse is located on a privileged estate with views that are magnificent.

The enclave offers us the best of the Mediterranean mountains, thick forests and beautiful white villages perched on the hills and overlooking the sea.

Here, we are a long walk from the pretty village of Gaucín, but the path is direct and takes about 45 minutes. By rural track and road, we are less than a 10 minute drive away.

The Mediterranean sea is right in front of us, at a distance, but not too far. About 30 minutes by car we have the Sabinillas beach with its restaurants that serve us fried fish right on the seashore. If you also fancy a taste of the Atlantic, you need to add another 30 minutes.

During our inspection of the villa, the property owners (a local family from the town with vast experience in holiday rentals), gave us a feeling of confidence and security.

There are some lovely horses on the estate that the owners come to feed at a regular time, they also maintain the pool and water the gardens. All this is performed with great discretion and we are assured that you still enjoy absolute privacy.

This is not a house that has been designed by renowned interior designers (as are a number of the villas we offer in this region), but you can still enjoy a high level of comfort. The essentials and not-so-essentials are here. The poolside bar is a huge plus for outdoor summer living.

Inside we found some extravagant sofas; we tried one and it was very comfortable!

The kitchen is spacious, and all the bedrooms are on the ground floor except for the attic room, which is the least interesting bedroom, but perfect for children. However, the stairs to this top floor do not have railings and they are unprotected, so this bedroom would not be suitable for small children.

To sum it up, this is a farmhouse that fulfills its purpose of family accommodation for a wonderful holiday in a natural and private environment.

Location

On its own, in open countryside and below the village of Gaucin (3 kms away by foot or 8 mins by car). Access via a 1 km which is not long but bumpy at places. The track can be negotiated with care with an ordinary car (not low-slung cars or smalls cars with low engine).

The villa was lovely in an amazing lication. It does feel remote and I would suggest 4x4 vehicle for easier access than the meal I made if it! No air con and the fans didnt all work - so some sleepless nights for those in the triple room in the eaves! Owners were very lovely and we had a thorpughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday."

Rustical Update

In our visits to this property we manage well with an ordinary car (Toyota Auris). An ordinary car with high clearance is what we recommend (e.g. Fiat Doblo, Volkswagen Caddy, Peugeot Partner). The property owner says that once they knew there fans no working that they fixed this.
