Overview

As part of our ongoing search for unique holiday properties, we recently had the pleasure of visiting this boutique villa in Galicia. Located near the picturesque village of Ponte Caldelas, this property stands out for its charming décor and distinctive layout.

On arrival, we noted that part of the villa faces a road, but this is more than compensated for by its beautiful gardens, offering tranquillity and lovely views.

These green spaces provide an ideal setting for relaxation, making it easy to forget the proximity of the road. The property has a consistent stream of regular visitors, which speaks to its appeal and quality.

One of the unique features of this villa is its layout. The kitchen and dining area are situated on the first floor, an arrangement that gives the living space a modern yet cosy feel.

The attention to detail in the presentation of these areas is apparent, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests.

The bedrooms are equally impressive. Two of them with en-suite facilities, good-sized beds, and tasteful decorations, ensuring both comfort and style during your stay.

For those seeking convenience, the villa’s location is greatt. The village of Ponte Caldelas, just a short drive away, offers essential amenities and a taste of authentic Galician life.

For beach lovers, the coast is a major draw, with the nearest sandy beaches about 20 minutes away by car. Portocelo beach, a Blue Flag destination known for its clean waters and excellent facilities, is one of several options. 

A hidden gem in this area is the beautiful river beaches, perfect for a refreshing swim or a peaceful riverside picnic. One of these is just five minutes from the villa, offering an alternative to the more bustling coastal beaches.

For families or adventure seekers, the local countryside provides opportunities for horse riding, with scenic trails that cross through the area’s stunning landscapes and rivers.

Those interested in a day trip can visit the historic town of Pontevedra, known for its rich cultural heritage and charming historic centre.

And, of course, no mention of Galicia would be complete without recognizing the region's vibrant culture. Known for its lively atmosphere, friendly locals, and a calendar full of festivals—particularly those celebrating the local seafood—this region offers a warm welcome that’s hard to beat.
