Overview

For a genuine experience in the mountains of Spain, this location, within walking distance of a town with all facilities, is a winner.

As a holiday home, it seemed to our team a safe bet for a lovely holiday not too far from Madrid but right in wonderful nature.

The first impressions count, and this villa looked on our visit clean, pleasant, well-organized and with good reliable management.

It took no time for our time in our visit to realize that the accommodation offers high standards. This means details such as mosquito nets in windows, boutique hotel bedrooms, a stunning pool area lit at night or a proper barbecue area.

The outdoor living facilities rank high, with furnished areas and ample gardens.

If we had to fault, something would be that for the maximum capacity of the house (14 people), the kitchen may seem slightly small, although we were glad to find two fridges, one of them being a large American-style fridge.

For large groups who may wish to gather all together, some arrangements may be necessary to sit all together, but the property owner can organize this.

We also liked that this property has the feel of a lived house belonging to the same local family for many decades.

This local family were carpenters, so the solid woodwork throughout the house is splendid.

Although the property owner lives in the same estate, they respect your privacy, and you can, for instance, still relax by the pool in solitude and, of course, not be overlooked.

There are grounds beyond the lawned gardens, with spring water and fruit trees. This is a large estate just outside the capital of the valley of Sierra de Gredos.

We think this would be an ideal property for both, just adults and families. We thought it was a holiday villa that would adapt well to almost everyone.

The walk to town is about 10 minutes, but getting anywhere interesting with facilities takes about 15 minutes. So close enough to walk but not practical enough to walk every day with shopping bags, for example.

It is hard to believe you are here just over 1hr 30 mins from Madrid and just at the gate of some of the most stunning natural areas in central Spain, the Sierra de Gredos. Be prepared to do some lovely walks, enjoy the scenery and relax!

Wooden house in Sierra de Gredos. It tastefully and creatively combines harmony with tranquility. The best rural house I have visited in years. The owners are delightful. The swimming pool is saltwater, and as you swim, you enjoy the mountains.
